How to Download and Install Software via ZIP File Downloading software as a ZIP file is a common way to package multiple files into one compact, easy-to-transfer folder. If you have just clicked a link, follow these steps to get your software up and running. 1. Download the ZIP Archive
Choose a convenient spot like your Downloads folder or Desktop.
Right-click the ZIP file and select Extract All... . Choose a destination folder and click Extract .
You cannot run most programs directly from inside a ZIP folder. You must "extract" them first to return them to their original format.
Simply double-click the ZIP file. macOS will automatically create a new, unzipped folder in the same location.
Once the files are extracted, open the new folder and look for the installation file.
Your antivirus or Windows SmartScreen might block the file because it came from the internet. If you trust the source, you can usually click "More Info" and then Run Anyway .
Wait for the download to finish. If you can’t find it, check your browser's "Downloads" history (Ctrl+J on Windows or Cmd+Option+L on Mac). 2. Extract (Unzip) the Files
