A resurgent Team Galactic attempts to rescue their lost leader, Cyrus, by opening a dimensional rift, which causes a Heatran to go on a violent rampage.

The special is a four-episode arc (combined into a movie format for international audiences) that follows Ash, Goh, and Dawn as they travel to the Sinnoh region.

Incorporates elements from Pokémon Legends: Arceus , including historical outfits and nods to the Hisui region.
