Venezuela has hosted multiple "World Congresses Against Fascism," such as the 2022 International Summit and the 2024 World Congress . These events frame the Bolivarian Process as a global bulwark against "imperialist fascism," often drawing parallels between the 2002 coup attempt against Hugo Chávez and contemporary challenges.
The Venezuelan government largely follows the Russian narrative regarding the conflict in Ukraine. President Maduro has expressed support for Vladimir Putin, blaming NATO and the United States for the invasion and echoing claims that they are backing "fascist" or "Nazi" elements within the Ukrainian state.
Similar to Russia’s "denazification" justification, some pro-government features claim a 70-year history of the CIA attempting to turn Ukraine into a "Nazi state" by supporting violent far-right nationalists.
Both countries are seen by analysts as targets for "regime change" due to their natural resources. Venezuelan officials claim fascism's goal is to seize control of resources like Venezuela's oil.
