The first season of follows an alternate version of the God of Mischief who, after escaping with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame , is apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) . This bureaucratic organization, existing outside space and time, monitors the "Sacred Timeline" and arrests "variants" like Loki whose actions threaten to create a chaotic multiverse.
