The story follows , voiced by Eva Noblezada, who is considered the unluckiest person in the world. Having recently aged out of the foster care system, Sam is determined to find a "forever family" for her younger friend, Hazel. Her life changes when she discovers a lucky penny belonging to a talking black cat named Bob (voiced by Simon Pegg). After accidentally losing the penny, Sam follows Bob into the secret Land of Luck , where magical creatures manage the distribution of good and bad luck to the human world. Together, they embark on a quest to recover the penny and eventually realize that a balance of both good and bad luck is essential for a meaningful life.
