The final round came down to Skyla’s ace, Swanna, against Ash’s Pikachu. Swanna used its Aqua Ring and Hurricane to create a nearly impenetrable defense. Pikachu struggled against the heavy winds, his Electric-type attacks being diverted by the swirling air. Just when it looked like Skyla’s prediction might come true, Ash noticed a pattern in the wind. He commanded Pikachu to use Iron Tail on the ground, grounding himself against the gale, and then launched a massive Thunderbolt right through the eye of the storm.

Ash and his friends finally arrived at the doorstep of the Mistralton City Gym, the excitement in the air almost tangible. After their long journey through the Unova region, the group was ready for Ash’s sixth Gym Badge challenge. However, before the battle could even begin, they were greeted by the eccentric Gym Leader, Skyla, who was busy practicing what she called "Air Battles."
